Achraf Hakimi has caught everyone’s attention this season while playing on loan at Borussia Dortmund but Real Madrid are keen to call him back at the end of the 2019-20 season.

The Madrid academy product joined the BVB side on a two-year loan spell and this campaign, he’s already managed to score five goals and provide 10 assists in 30 league matches in Germany.

But recently, while talking about his future, Achraf Hakimi had hinted that even though he wants to head back to the Bernabeu but at the same time, he’s not ruling out a move to a new club.

He told Telefoot: “Real Madrid are the club I call home. ‘I’ve really enjoyed my time there and played lots of games there. If Real Madrid want me to go back, I’ll go back.

“And if not, I will need to write the next chapter at another great club.”

And now as per a report in 90min, Achraf Hakimi is wanted by as many as three Premier League clubs next season.

The report claims: “Premier League trio Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur have all asked Real Madrid about the availability of Achraf Hakimi, who has been on loan at Borussia Dortmund since 2018.

“Now established as one of Europe’s most exciting attacking full-backs, with the versatility to play on either flank, Hakimi is expected to return to Madrid upon the conclusion of the Bundesliga campaign.

“But a source has told 90min that Dortmund are desperate to sign the 21-year-old on a permanent deal, though they will face huge – and financially powerful – competition if Real Madrid decide to entertain offers.”

Should Chelsea give up the chase of Achraf Hakimi?

This is not the first time Chelsea have been linked with Achraf Hakimi but we don’t think Frank Lampard should try and sign him this summer.

Yes, the 21-year-old is one of the best full-backs in world football right now but the Blues have Reece James, a player who’s shaping up to be a top-class right-back.

So, in times of such a financial turmoil, it would be wise for Chelsea to save as much money as possible and rely on their home-grown talent.

Also, Manchester City and Spurs aren’t the only clubs keen to sign Achraf Hakimi so if Chelsea do get into this race, Lampard will have to fend off a series of top European clubs in order to land the right-back.

And finally, with the kind of season that Achraf Hakimi has been having in Germany, we doubt if Zinedine Zidane will be too keen to part ways with the Moroccon international.
