Chelsea have been heavily interested in signing Achraf Hakimi from Inter Milan but as per Tuttomercatoweb, the full-back is destined for PSG this summer.

Tuchel has been a long-term admirer of the 22-year-old and at one point, the Blues were said to be the favourites to sign Hakimi. Now though things seem to have changed.

The report claims: “Achraf Hakimi is destined to wear the PSG shirt. In fact, the last definitive offer is ready from Paris which, between the fixed part and the easily reachable bonuses, will touch about 67-68 million euros.

“The white smoke – according to what TMW has gathered – is expected within the weekend, but in any case the CEO Beppe Marotta and the director Piero Ausilio are very confident that the transfer can take place by 30 June.”

If this report is right then Chelsea have only a few days left to stage a coup and stop Achraf Hakimi from joining PSG.

But for that to happen, the Premier League side will have to pay the required transfer fee fully in cash. Till now, Chelsea have been offering a cash-plus-player deal, something which Inter Milan are not interested in.

Also, it looks like the Moroccon international has some kind of personal agreement with PSG so it will be really hard for Chelsea to change his mind during these final hours.

Some reports suggest Thomas Tuchel and the Chelsea management are yet to give up hope but if Achraf Hakimi has made up his mind about joining PSG then there’s very little they can.

Hakimi joined Inter Milan just one year ago from Real Madrid for a transfer fee of around £40 million and according to TransferMarkt, he is currently valued at £54 million.

UPDATE:

Fabrizio Romano has made it clear that Hakimi has his sights set on a move to PSG and now the only thing left is for the Ligue 1 side to offer a credible transfer fee.

He wrote on Twitter: “Hakimi deal, at final stages. Achraf made it clear to his agents: he wants to join Paris Saint-Germain, personal terms are agreed until 2026.

“Feeling from Inter: once PSG official improved bid [around €70m] arrives, the deal will be signed and completed.”

Looks like Chelsea have missed out on a fine talent.
