Chelsea could shift their focus to Wolves winger Adama Traore if they fail to land Achraf Hakimi from Inter Milan this summer, as per Spanish publication AS.

The report claims: “Without Achraf, the Stamford Bridge target would be Adama Traoré. His name has already been linked to Chelsea.

“Tuchel believes that he could perfectly fit into the right-hander position and pose competition to Reece James. Adama is also a Leeds target in the Premier League.

“The team that Bielsa directs has come to offer 40 million. Adama, on his part, has still not signed a renewal with Wolverhampton, his club.

“The player began talks with Wolverhampton months ago to renew that seemed to be close to crystallizing, but never materialized. Time is running out for Wolverhampton.”

Will Liverpool miss out on Adama Traore?

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been a long-time admirer of the Wolves winger and some rumours claim that the Anfield outfit are already working on a deal for Adama Traore.

This entry of Chelsea is sure to cause a few ripples in the transfer market but Tuchel is very clearly targetting Achraf Hakimi and as per the major European reports, the Blues are confident they will be able to sign the Inter Milan man before the new season kicks off.

So, this interest in Adama Traore is a mere backup plan which, as things stand, is not likely to be executed.

Liverpool are also not only being with the Wolves man since Klopp has also registered an interest in Leeds United man Raphinha.

It’s unclear if Liverpool will make a move for Adama Traore or not but we certainly don’t think Chelsea are planning a formal bid any time soon.

During the 2019-20 season, Adama Traore was one of the best wingers in the Premier League but his form had massively dipped last season as he managed to score only two and assist three goals in 37 league game.

Maybe this is also a big reason why the Spanish international is not a first priority transfer target for neither Liverpool nor Chelsea.
