Liverpool are planning to overtake Chelsea in the race to sign winger Adama Traore from Wolves, as per the Daily Star.

Wolves have put Adama Traore up for sale this summer and these two sides have been linked with him since the start of the transfer window. Now, it looks like the Anfield outfit are going to steal a march.

The report claims: “Liverpool are poised to try and pull a fast one with a cut-price £30m bid to land Wolves flyer Adama Traore.

“Kop boss Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of the Spain international who could be prised out of Molineux. The 25-year-old has been on Klopp’s wish list for some time but was always considered to be too costly.

“But he can expect stiff resistance to a bargain deal with Wolves eager to hang on to the Premier League’s sprint king.”

Will Chelsea challenge Liverpool for Adama Traore?

According to Football Insider, manager Bruno Lage is expected to play a counter-attacking style of football at Wolves next season, something which will not suit Adama Traore.

And this is why the club are ready to let him leave for the right transfer fee.

Adama Traore is valued at £27 million and his current deal with Wolves expires in 2023. So a £30 million bid from Liverpool should be more than enough to trigger a sale.

Chelsea have several players who can play down the right wing but some rumours claim they could send out Hakim Ziyech to AC Milan on a loan deal.

If Ziyech is sent to Serie A in the coming weeks then it will open the doors for Chelsea to make a move for Adama Traore. Other than that, we don’t see Thomas Tuchel asking his management to sign the Wolves winger.
