According to Calcio Mercato, Arsenal could be trying to sign midfielder Adrien Rabiot in a swap deal for Hector Bellerin.

The Gunners are struggling to offload Bellerin and their latest ploy to get rid of him is to use the right-back as a counterweight to bring Rabiot to the Emirates Stadium.

Adrien Rabiot joined Juventus in 2019 with a lot of hope but the midfielder has not been able to live up to the expectations. This season he scored zero goals and provided only two assists in 32 league games.

His current contract expires in next year so Juve are now looking to part ways with him and this swap deal might be a great opportunity for the Old Lady to try and offload Rabiot.

Do the Gunners need the services of the 27-year-old?

Adrien Rabiot has not been able to live up to the hype at Juve but a player like him can very easily elevate Arsenal.

Thomas Partey has been really great for the Gunners but the ex-Atletico man is very much prone to injuries so Adrien Rabiot will be a fine addition.

The 27-year-old was in the best of forms when he was playing for PSG and even 50% of those performances will be a big help for a team like Arsenal.

Also, Granit Xhaka is likely to leave this summer so Adrien Rabiot will get regular game time should he move to the Emirates Stadium plus he will be available for a bargain deal because his contract expires in 12 months.

Can Arsenal beat Man United to the signing of Adrien Rabiot?

Man United have been linked with the Juve midfielder but we don’t think they are seriously interested in the 27-year-old.

Erik ten Hag is fully focused on Frenkie de Jong and if United cannot bring him on board then the club are likely to shift their focus to someone like Ruben Neves rather than Adrien Rabiot.

Juventus are more than willing to cash in on Adrien Rabiot so Arsenal’s swap deal offer can very well seal the deal for Mikel Arteta. Hector Bellerin is of no use to the Gunners’ manager and if he can be used as leverage then it will be a job well done.

Youri Tielemans is set to join Arsenal in the next few weeks and if Arteta is able to sign Adrien Rabiot as well then Arsenal’s midfield will be really competitive.
