Arsenal might finally be able to make a move for Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham because Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Alexandre Lacazette, as per Calciomercato.
The report claims: “Alexandre Lacazette is leaving Arsenal (due to expire in 2022) and he is a name that is back in fashion to reinforce Atletico Madrid’s attack.
“In the past, in fact, the Frenchman had already been connected to the Colchoneros and from Spain they report that interest has come back alive.
“The Gunners would like to sell it in this market session so as not to lose it to zero in a year.”
Arsenal to go after Abraham once Alexandre Lacazette joins Atletico?
Atletico Madrid were interested to sign Alexandre Lacazette last summer as well but eventually, a deal did not materialize.
But now the fact that the Gunners are willing to sell him for just £15 million seems to have caught the Spanish side’s attention and now they are ready to make a move pretty soon.
Arsenal were waiting to send Alexandre Lacazette out so they can make a move for Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham – primarily because the England international wants to be the main man at the Emirates next season.
Also, Arsenal have spent £50 million on Ben White and Chelsea are demanding £40 million for Abraham. So, the Gunners needed to generate some funds by selling off a few deadwood.
Lacazette has failed to win the trust of his manager which is why he has been put up for sale and if rumours are to be believed then Eddie Nketiah could follow suit.
The real winners in this deal will be Chelsea though since they get to bag a whopping £40 million from the sale of a player who was warming the benches for the majority of the previous campaign.
With Arsenal ready to sell, Atletico Madrid will not find it hard to get their hands on the 30-year-old so we expect the deal to be wrapped up soon.
