Arsenal have had a woeful last season failing to qualify for the Champions League for the first time under Arsene Wenger. And to add to that the Arsenal fans had been raising their voices, in demand of a new coach.

But now all that is a thing of the past and Wenger has been awarded a new contract. But the headaches for the Frenchman are far from over as he looks to hold on to a string of first team players. And one such person is Alexis Sanchez.

Sanchez has now only 12 months left on his contract and he has refused to sign a new deal at the club. Meaning that the Chilean is trying to force his way out of the Emirates. Amongst this hustle and bustle, a lot of top European clubs have been linked with the forward.

We take a look at the possible destinations that Sanchez could land up to in the coming season:

Manchester City:

Pep Guardiola is now in his second season at the club and he has already started rebuilding his squad. This meant that a lot of first team players were released in the summer to make way for new signings. And the transfer gossip vines suggest that Sanchez could be one of the players that might come in.

Guardiola is no stranger to Alexis Sanchez after having signed the Chilean during his Barcelona days. And owing to that, Sanchez should not have any sort of problems in reuniting with his old boss. And to add to that, Sanchez will fit in perfectly in the attacking jigsaw puzzle of Man City. Unlike at Arsenal, the Chilean will get ample attacking support at City. Meaning that he will not have to carry bag loads of pressure on his shoulders.

But moving to Man City is much easier said than done. Because the last mistake that Wenger would make is to sell one of his best players to a direct rival. Arsenal do not have Champions League football and hence will be concentrating much more on domestic competitions. Thus it leaves a much greater possibility that Sanchez might come back to haunt them.

Bayern Munich:

Bayern Munich was one of the first clubs that Sanchez was linked to during this transfer window. Initially, it looked as if a move to Munich was inevitable. But the proceedings have been halted a bit in the past couple of weeks. And this is mainly due to the high wages that the Chilean had demanded.

According to various sources, Sanchez has demanded wages well over £300,000 per week from any club that wishes to sign him. And this is where the problem lies for Bayern. The Bavarians are just not ready to shell out that sort of amount for any player. While the negotiations are still going on but Bayern will definitely think hard before buying a player at such a huge rate.

But if Sanchez does move to Munich then he will be an apt replacement for the ageing Arjen Robben. Robben is already 33 and Sanchez will undoubtedly be a perfect long-term replacement for the Dutchman.
