Celtic legend hints at the secret weapon that Gerrard might have conjured at Rangers: Agree?

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard might have been successful in holding onto Alfredo Morelos for one more season.

During the summer, there were close to a dozen clubs who were linked with the Colombian striker and there were serious rumours that he might be on his way out of the club before the new season begins.

But with the transfer window closing on September 2nd, it is safe to say that Alfredo Morelos is not going anywhere and he seems to have made a fearsome bond with Jermain Defoe.

Defoe is currently on loan from AFC Bournemouth and the 36-year-old has already managed to net 5 goals for the Teddy Bears this season.

And speaking about this formidable pairing, Celtic legend Kenny Dalglish has claimed that Steven Gerrard might just found his dream combination upfront.

He wrote: “Rangers played well in the two legs against FC Midtjylland and once again Alfredo Morelos was in fine form, scoring twice and setting up another.

“He has been finding the net regularly this season, and so has Jermain Defoe.

“It’s a dream scenario for a manager to have both strikers right on it, and walking around the building every day in a happy place.”

Alfredo Morelos managed to net 30 goals across all competitions last season and this campaign he has already managed to score 9 goals.

And the pundits feel if the Colombian can manage to avoid picking up unnecessary red cards then he along with Jermaine Defoe can become arduous pair this season in the Premiership.

But some fans feel that scoring goals is something that the Gers were better than Celtic even last season and it is their defence that needs sorting out if they wish to end their trophy drought.
