Celtic FC kicked off their Scottish Premiership campaign last weekend with a 3-1 victory over Livingston but their Glasgow rivals did not particularly have a good start to the season as they managed to come home with only a single point against Aberdeen.
But losing two points right at the beginning of the season was not even the talking point of the whole match.
Gers striker Alfredo Morelos was shown a direct red after just 12 minutes into the match – forcing Gerrard’s side to play with only ten men for most of the game.
Morelos was given the marching orders after kicking out at an Aberdeen defender off the ball but the decision seemed to be a bit hard and many fans argued that the incident was not a red card offence.
But the Hoops fans had totally different views and most of them were happy simply because a red card meant Alfredo Morelos would miss the first Old Firm Derby next month due to a three-match ban.
This excitement though has not lasted long as Steven Gerrard has confirmed that the red card shown to Alfredo Morelos has been cancelled and the player will be available for selection this weekend.

Gerrard said: “The card has been rescinded which we are very happy about.”
As per the reports, the red card has now been downgraded to a yellow card.
And this decision has not gone down too well with the Celtic fans who have raised questions about the Appeal Panel’s integrity.
Who is on the Appeals Panel? Time for transparency!

Getting back Morelos will be a huge boost for Rangers as Steven Gerrard will not have to be solely dependent on Umar Saqid during the league games.
