Man United travel to Spain to face Granada in the Europa League quarter-finals this week and youngsters Amad Diallo & Anthony Elanga could be in contention to start vs the La Liga side.

The youngster has so far played in three Europa League games this season for the English side and against AC Milan, he came off the bench to score a goal. While he did not feature in the second leg vs Milan but given that Granada are not a top-notch side, Amad Diallo could feature in the starting line-up this week.

The manager said, as quoted: “Of course he is [getting closer to a start]. He’s getting used to our standards. He did well when he played 45 minutes against Milan and we’ll see him gradually start games.

“It might come tomorrow and it might come in another game.”

“We pick a team to win each game. This is just the first half of the tie. We have big games coming up and that’s always a conundrum.

“Who can play for 90 minutes? Who can play four or five games on the bounce? Who needs a rest? We always have a check in the morning to see how everyone is feeling.”

The manager has also made it clear that Anthony Elanga is ready to play a part if called up.

Ole added: “Anthony will be in the squad, he’ll be on the bench. He’s impressed when he’s been in training with us. He was very unlucky two or three months ago when he got a bad injury and he worked really hard to come back because he was just due to move into the first-team squad back then.

He has an appetite and hunger to improve and when he’s been training with us the last while he’s been here now, he’s not been phased by it. He’s confident; he’s not just here for experience, he’s ready to play a part if he has to.”

Will Amad Diallo & Elanga start vs Granada?

Amad Diallo has been on the bench for a couple of Premier League games for Manchester United in the past few months but he’s yet to play even a single minute for them in the league.

But with Marcus Rashford just recovering from an injury, the 18-year-old could be in line to feature on the right wing vs Granada.

Ole has made it clear that Rashford will be on the matchday squad on Thursday but he might not be ready to start the match. And this presents a big opportunity for the Ivorian Diallo.

While Amad Diallo is in line to start but he will have to convince the manager that he’s good enough to feature ahead of players like Mason Greenwood and Dan James.

As far as Anthony Elanga is concerned, the young forward has done superbly well in the Premier League 2 this season, scoring six and assisting two goals in 12 matches. But with Edinson Cavani back in to full fitness and Mason Greenwood in top form, the Swede might only get to play a couple of minutes towards the end of the match.
