Its looks like the Conte-Costa debacle has finally come to an end as the Chelsea boss has given the go-ahead for Costa’s move to Atletico Madrid. But the situation was not as easy as it looks now.

Costa revealed in an international post-match interview that his Chelsea boss has asked him to leave the club in the summer and find a new one. But according to the Spaniard, his boss chose to break the news via a message. This clearly infuriated the Spanish International as he seemed disheartened with the way he had been shown the door at the Club.

Since then their relationship was on a steady decline and it even came to a point when Costa chose to take a dig at his boss through a social network.

And now that the 28-year-old is all set to join Atletico Madrid, Antonio Conte has revealed that the decision of Costa’s exit was made back in January. According to a report, Antonio Conte has said that all almost everyone knew that Costa was going to leave Chelsea in the summer.

The Italian said, “The only thing I can tell you is that in January the Costa situation was very clear for the club, for him and his agent (Jorge Mendes). For me, the situation is closed.”

Both the player and the coach had an alleged training room bust up in January after which reports were ripe that Costa might be moving to China to play in the Chinese Super League. But both Chelsea and the player quickly cleared the air about the rumour.

Now Diego Costa looks all set to move back to the La Liga in order to join his old club Atletico Madrid. But with the current transfer embargo on Simeone’s side, Atleti might not be able to register Costa before the month of January.
