Tottenham Hotspur recently sacked Jose Mourinho and as per the latest reports, ex-Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte could be in line to replace the Portuguese at the North London club.

Conte had a wonderful season with Inter Milan, winning the Serie A but unfortunately, he had to part ways with the Italian side last month and is now looking to make a return to the Premier League.

The Daily Mail cite Sky Italia saying: “Antonio Conte is in advanced negotiations to become Tottenham’s new boss, according to reports in Italy.

“Spurs have yet to appoint a permanent successor to Jose Mourinho who was sacked in April after 17 months in charge, with Ryan Mason taking temporary charge until the end of the Premier League season.

“But now Sky Sport Italia claim former Chelsea boss Conte – who quit Serie A champions Inter Milan last month – is in talks to move back to the Premier League.”

The report also claims that Antonio Conte has already held discussions with the Spurs management over a potential move and if this deal goes through then he could be the perfect replacement for the recently departed Jose Mourinho.

The Italian spent two years in the Premier League with Chelsea and he had also managed to win the Premier League with the Blues. So, if he does take charge of Spurs, the 51-year-old will take no time at all to settle down and adjust to the groove of English football.

Spurs have tried to reach out to a lot of potential candidates for their managerial role but none of them has materialized so far(for one reason or another). But with Antonio Conte, Levy is surely seeing a ray of hope.

Conte was with Chelsea from July 2016 till the summer of 2018 and during that time, he managed 106 matches across all competition for the Blues.

The ex-Inter Milan man will be the apt replacement for Jose Mourinho since he not only has the capability of taking Tottenham back into the Champions League but also has the aura to hold and attract the superstar players.
