According to a report in The Sun, Napoli are quoting an astronomical fee for Victor Osimhen but somehow, Arsenal are not ready to back out.
Osimhen was the standout player for Napoli this season, scoring 14 goals in just 27 league games and the Serie A side will allow him to leave if an interested club is willing to pay around £85 million for his services.
The centre-forward’s contract with Napoli expires in 2025 so they are in no hurry to offload him and there was a hope that such a massive transfer fee will successfully fend off any interest.
However, it seems like Arsenal are very much inquisitive about the 23-year-old and as per the report, they are willing to spend the desired amount of money to bring him on board.
Victor Osimhen scored four and assisted twice in Nigeria's 10-0 win against Sao Tome and Principe 🤯

Will Arsenal seriously spend so much on Victor Osimhen?
There’s no doubt the forward is a world-class talent and a player like him can enormously help Arsenal return to the Champions League but we seriously doubt if the Gunners are ready to spend so much money on him.
Arsenal are in the process of signing Jesus and Youri Tielemans and both of them should cost the club around £70-80 million. Now, to spend £85 million after these two transfers is very much unrealistic for a club that will be playing in the Europa League next season.
Any report from The Sun should be taken with a pinch of salt and this one is no different.
Once the signing of Gabriel Jesus is wrapped up, the North London side are likely to shift their focus to someone like Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Richarlison.
TFFB likelihood meter: 4/10
The state Arsenal are in right now, a player like Victor Osimhen is very much out of their reach so we don’t think this transfer is not likely to happen this summer.
The Gunners will sign two forwards before the new season begins but Osimhen is going to be one of them.
