Arsenal will be out in the market looking for a new centre-forward and according to Football Insider, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is one of their targets.

Gabriel Jesus is the number striker for the Gunners and that is going to be the case next season as well. However, the Brazilian needs a backup and there’s a chance that the Everton man could play that role.

Eddie Nketiah has done a great job as the backup but Arsenal cannot rely on him each and every season so signing a new centre-forward will be a priority for Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners have added Leandro Trossard to their ranks in January and he can play as a false nine but the manager is very clear that he wants another centre-forward.

Should Arsenal go after Dominic Calvert-Lewin?

A few seasons ago, Dominic Calvert-Lewin was one of the most promising forwards in the Premier League but injuries have badly halted his progress.

During the 21/22 season, he missed 16 games due to a fractured toe and this season, he’s already been out for close to 80 days. He’s become massively injury prone over the years so signing him will be nothing short of a gamble for Arsenal.

His current deal with Everton will expire in 2025 and as per reports, a fee of around £30 million should be enough to sign him up. These factors all look really attractive but the Gunners wouldn’t want to pay money for someone whose next injury is just around the corner.

Calvert-Lewin has played only 11 Premier League games this season, scoring only one goal so it makes no sense to spend so much money on someone like him.

Arsenal will be much better off trying to sign someone who is young and relatively unknown than going after the Everton man.
