Chelsea were held to a draw by Crystal Palace before the international break and according to Paul Merson and Roy Keane, the Blues could suffer a similar fate once again.
The Blues are going to take on Bournemouth on Saturday in the Premier League and the two pundits think Chelsea’s unstable performances will cost them two points.
Merson has told Sportskeeda: “This is the hardest game to call this weekend…We don’t know what Chelsea will turn up, they lack consistency. They have a loss, win and a draw from their three games, that explains everything you need to know.
“Chelsea could win games 3-0 or 4-0, or they could lose. I wouldn’t be shocked if Chelsea don’t win this game. It will be interesting to see how Jadon Sancho fits into this team. He hasn’t gone there to sit on the bench so I expect him to start here. If this move fails to work out, it could be a big problem for him and Chelsea.”
Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane has also said that the Blues are going to fumble.
Are Bournemouth going to inflict another blow to Chelsea?
Chelsea are sitting 11th on the Premier League table and going into matchweek three, Bournemouth are one point better than the Blues.
In matchweek two, Enzo Maresca’s side could only manage a draw against Palace, on the other hand, Bournemouth came from 2-0 down against Everton to win 3-2.
The Cherries are brimming with confidence at the moment and if Chelsea cannot get their sync early there’s every chance that Andoni Iraola’s side are going to cause an upset.
Chelsea haven’t lost to AFC Bournemouth in their last 6 meetings but there’s every chance that record will fall on Saturday. The Blues have thumped six goals past Wolves but at the same time, they have dropped points against Palace and lost to Manchester City.
Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke have been the top two players this season and they along with Pedro Neto will be key to Chelsea’s success at the weekend. Palmer has created 11 chances and provided 4 assists while Madueke is the top scorer in the team with 3 goals against his name. Jadon Sancho is also ready to get minutes however we doubt if the England international will get a start at the Vitality Stadium.
