Jesse Lingard Man United news

Jesse Lingard and Dele Alli were overlooked by Gareth Southgate as the England manager named his latest squad without these two players.

And now according to Man United legend Roy Keane, these two players might very well have come to the end of their international careers.

Keane said(as reported): “Yeah, we saw the signs with one or two of these young players you mentioned who have disappeared.

“They should have done that about a year ago. And they mightn’t get a chance to get back in [now] – that’s what happens in football.

“Timing, these young lads in England, take your opportunity and let these lads fall by the wayside.”

Both Alli and Jesse Lingard have failed to turn up this season for their respective clubs and their constant poor form has led to their ommission from the Three Lions squad.

And unfortunately, this poor form comes at a time when Southgate is seeing a flurry of youngsters come up through the ranks.

The likes of Tammy Abraham, Jadon Sancho and Mason Mount have all been in fine form during the 2019-20 season and it is only a matter of time before these players become regulars for the national side.

England have been known to hold onto players despite them going through a rough patch but things have surely changed under Gareth Southgate.

During the current campaign, Dele Alli has featured in only a single Premier League game and naturally failing to make any sort of positive impact.

Jesse Lingard too has been equally poor for Manchester United playing in six league matches with nothing to show in either the goals or the assists tally.

Both these players have been sent a warning by Gareth Southgate by leaving them out of the squad this time around and if they fail to pick up their game by the next international break then surely, the duo would be starting to fade into oblivion.
