Man City have been dominating in the Premier League for the past few seasons but the Champions League trophy has somehow eluded him. The last time Pep Guardiola got his hands on the trophy was at the end of the 2010/11 season with Barcelona and since then teams like Real Madrid have won multiple trophies and even Liverpool have been crowned the champions.

City are having another top-class season, blowing away every team that stand infront of them and they are very much the favourites to become the kings of Europe this time around. The Etihad outfit breezed past Sporting in the 1st leg of the Round of 16 but Guardiola seems to be very wary of Liverpool and their dominance.

Liverpool have been their biggest challenger in the Premier League and Pep Guardiola has admitted that Jurgen Klopp’s side have the capability to halt Man City’s progress in Europe.

After City’s win vs Sporting, the Spaniard said, as quoted: Guardiola said: “Liverpool. They are our biggest rivals in the last few seasons, they are always there.

“They are a pain in the a** all the time. They are a fantastic team.”

Are Liverpool the only ones who can halt the Man City juggernaut?

Liverpool have been pushing Man City for the Premier League title for the previous few years and this is currently the biggest rivalry in England.

But the Reds are not the only ones who can match Man City toe to toe in Europe this season.

City are playing some really eye-catching football and one of the main reasons why Liverpool can match up with them is because Klopp has one of the best attacking lineups in Europe something which Ligue 1 giants PSG can also boast about.

PSG have players Messi, Mbappe and Neymar and this trio can rip apart any defence in the world. These two sides have already faced each other in the group stages but if they face each other again then surely it will be an even more intense affair.

Bayern Munich are another side who have a well-drilled attacking line up and if they are pitched against City then surely Guardiola will have a lot of thinking to do to beat his former side.

Another way to stop Man City is by preventing them from scoring and Atletico Madrid are a side who are masters at that. Simeone’s side is a specialist at shutting down opponents and they are also another side that City should be wary about.

Chelsea are obviously the defending champions and they too have the firepower to shake up a team like Man City. Tuchel is a master tactician and last season he showed that he has the capability of making things work if he has players who are willing to understand and adapt to his tactics. There’s no way the German is going to give up without a fight.

We can understand why Pep Guardiola is so worried about Liverpool but the Anfield outfit aren’t the only side who have the ability to keep Man City waiting for one more season.
