Liverpool are currently sixth on the Premier League spot – seven points behind the final Champions League spot(at the time of writing this). And next up, they have an all-important game against Manchester United, away from home.

Man United’s loss to Leicester City have made things really difficult for Liverpool, in terms of their Champions League qualification so if they wish to have any chance of making it to the top four by the end of this month then the Anfield outfit will have to pick up maximum points from their remaining four games, starting on Thursday.

The Liverpool players have their backs against the wall now and many think this could give them a real sense of urgency and in turn, help them secure all three points against Manchester United.

Jurgen Klopp though has made it clear that winning matches has been the basic plan for his side from the very start of this season but now that it’s do-or-die, his side will have to throw the kitchen sink at it.

“Our plan was to win all the football games we played this season, so we don’t change that,” Klopp said in his press conference.

“Do we have to take more risks in the last few minutes when it looks like a draw? That’s possible, but not planned in the moment that if it’s 0-0 we bring everybody who is a striker or used to be a striker. No, it’s just the normal way.

“If you play a football game and think only about attacking, you’ve lost before the first whistle. Especially against United with the quality they have. So, we need to make sure we are ready, like always.

“The situation we are in, I’m not sure but I think we are not that bad in the form table in the moment, in the last five games we should be quite OK.

“But there were two draws [against Leeds United and Newcastle United] when we lost the game pretty much in the last minute, and that felt really harsh. So you could never get this feeling of kind of a winning streak or whatever, or not losing, because it’s so important.

“That’s the situation. We know that and the plan is to give it a proper try tomorrow night.”

Manchester United have played two games in three days so they are bound to be tired meaning this is the best chance for Liverpool to head to Old Trafford and pick up a win.

Liverpool will also have to rely on both Chelsea and West Ham United dropping points in their last few matches but before that, they have to make sure their own garden is properly arranged.

Apart from the Man United game, all the other three matches seem pretty winnable for Liverpool but first, Klopp will have to make sure that his side do not stumble against Solskjaer’s men.
