Arsenal and Manchester United are reportedly keeping tabs on Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo and there’s a possibility they could make a move for him, claims the Daily Express(h/t TEAMtalk).

The midfielder is just 20 years old but he’s already grabbing a lot of attention, especially after his fine performances this season. He’s started both games for Brighton and has properly shone in each of them.

He was one of the key performers in gameweek one against Manchester United and on Saturday, he had a rating of 7.3 out of 10 in the game vs the Magpies.

He’s a proper box-to-box midfielder who can dictate the tempo of the game and can also help break up opposition attacks in the middle of the pitch. Both United and Arsenal are on the lookout for a new central midfielder and many experts believe they could make a late move for the Ecuadorian.

Arsenal or Man United: Which team suits him better?

Manchester United are in absolute shambles right now and they very urgently need a central midfielder. However, we don’t think Moises Caicedo can be that man because he’s just had two good games for the Seagulls.

He’s no doubt a wonderful talent but the 20-year-old is one for the future whereas Man United need someone who can make an instant impact.

Caicedo has played only 12 senior games for Brighton so signing him will be nothing but a gamble for Erik ten Hag. The manager needs a central midfielder who has experience at the top level plus he wouldn’t need time to settle down at the club.

However, a move to Arsenal can work very well for all parties because the Gunners currently have experienced players like Odegaard, Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka in their side.

Arteta can afford to sign Moises Caicedo as a prospective project and then the youngster can be given one or two seasons to make his impact at the club.

Yes, Arsenal also need a central midfielder but they can afford to sign someone who will make 20-25 appearances this season and then become a first-team regular next campaign.
