Arsenal are planning to try and sign Napoli right-back Giovanni Di Lorenzo as Mikel Arteta looks for a replacement to Hector Bellerin, as per Football London.

Bellerin has been linked with a move to Inter Milan this summer and the Gunners should let him leave before the transfer window shuts down. And as per the gossip vines, the Napoli right-back is one of the short-listed replacement candidates, especially after what his agent has said.

The report claims: “Hector Bellerin may well be ending his long stay at Arsenal this summer, and Mikel Arteta will be looking to secure a top-class replacement.

“One of three options for the Gunners manager is Napoli’s Giovanni Di Lorenzo, who valued at £21.6m, following a Euro 2020 spike.”

In a recent interview, the Italian international’s agent, Mario Giuffredi, has hinted that the 27-year-old could move out of Napoli during the ongoing transfer window.

“If offers arrive, we are obliged to take them into consideration, also in the interest of Napoli, because it is the president himself who has put everyone on the market,” he said.

“So, we feel we are on the market. If an appropriate offer arrives it’ll be discussed and considered. At the moment no request has arrived .”

Giovanni Di Lorenzo moving to Arsenal?

Inter Milan are looking to sign Bellerin on a loan deal with an option to buy but Arsenal want either a permanent sale or an obligation to buy clause in that loan deal.

So, it’s pretty clear the Gunners want to gather funds for their new arrivals and if the price is right for Bellerin then signing someone like Giovanni Di Lorenzo should not be a major issue.

The right-back is currently valued at £21.6 million and he has five more years left on his current deal. His recent endeavours in the European Championship has upped his value so we think Napoli could quote more than his base price.

Arsenal have already spent big on Ben White so they must now rely on player sales before they can go out and spend big once again in the transfer market.
