After the Super League fiasco, the Arsenal fans have made it a point to drive the current owners out of the club and in such a scenario, there are now reports of a potential bid from one of the suitors.

Kroenke Sports Enterprises, who are the current owners of Arsenal recently made it clear that they have no intentions of selling the North London club. Asked if KSE had plans to sell Arsenal, Kroenke replied: “I am not willing to answer that question because we have no intention of selling.

“I believe we are fit to carry on in our position as custodians of Arsenal. We were put in a very difficult position by forces outside of the club.”

Despite this statement, it looks like Spotify owner Daniel Ek, along with a few Arsenal legends are keen to take over.

In a recent tweet, Ek said: “As a kid growing up, I’ve cheered for @Arsenal as long as I can remember. If KSE would like to sell Arsenal I’d be happy to throw my hat in the ring.”

And now according to ESPN’s James Olley, Daniel Ek is leading a consortium to try and buy Arsenal from the club’s current owners and they could make a formal offer very soon.

The report claims: “A consortium led by Spotify owner Daniel Ek and including three former Arsenal players is planning a sensational bid to buy the north London club, sources have told ESPN.

“Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Patrick Vieira are involved in a move which will test the resolve of American owners Kroenke Sports Enterprises. Sources have told ESPN that there could be a formal offer tabled within the next two weeks although it is unclear at this stage what valuation they are placing on Arsenal.

“This interest is genuine but former Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini, rumoured to be one member of the consortium, is not part part of the group.”

Recently, Arsenal fans had protested outside the Emirates, urging the current owners to leave the club and now this supposed decision from Daniel Ek is sure to add more fuel to the fire.

Arsenal have been pushed into meritocracy primarily due to the financial decisions from their owners and this recent Super League participation was a clear sign that the KSE group absolutely does not care about the football part at the club.

New ownership will obviously usher in a new lease of life at the club but as per Forbes, Arsenal are currently valued at around £2 billion which is a bit of a problem for Daniel Ek, since the Spotify owner is himself only worth £3.4 billion.
