Arsenal eager to sign this 21 Y/O Israeli winger: Long-term replacement for Auba?

Premier League side Arsenal are interested in making a summer move for Shakhtar Donetsk’s 21-year-old winger, Manor Solomon, according to The Guardian.

The report claims: “Arsenal are monitoring the Shakhtar Donetsk winger Manor Solomon with a view to making the Ukrainian club an offer in the summer.

“Solomon, who can play across the front line, is likely to stay put in the current window. Arsenal will not have the funds to make expensive purchases this winter unless an unforeseen number of departures take place, and acquiring Solomon would take a substantial fee given his contract expires in December 2023.

“But the picture could well look different after May and Mikel Arteta remains keen to freshen up a squad that, despite its recent upturn, has struggled to convince for most of the season.”

Will Solomon be the perfect fit at Arsenal?

The 21-year-old primarily plays on the left-wing and this season he has scored five goals and provided one assist for the Ukrainian side across all competitions.

The player is under contract at Shakhtar until the summer of 2023 and this transfer clearly looks one for the future so Arsenal are not particularly happy to break the bank for him.

Aubameyang is ending the final few seasons of his professional career and soon Arteta will have to bring in a long-term replacement for the Gabon international. And valued at around £15 million, Manor Solomon could be the perfect solution to this headache for the Arsenal manager.

Obviously signing him will be a gamble but at such a cheap price tag, this is a risk worth taking for the Premier League side.
