Arsenal have reportedly joined the race to sign 22-year-old defender Ben White during the summer transfer window.

Ben White has come up through the ranks at Brighton and Hove Albion but this season he is plying his trade in the Championship for Leeds United.

So far in the 2019-20 season, White has featured in 37 games for the tier two side, starting in all of those matches. And it seems his fine performances seems to have caught the eye of the Gunners.

This though is a piece of bad news for both Liverpool as well as Manchester United since these two Premier League clubs have also been linked with a move for the centre-back.

Ben White returns back to Brighton at the end of the season where he is tied down until the summer of 2022 meaning the Seagulls are in no hurry to sell him off.

Is Ben White a good signing?

Ben White has been having a wonderful season so far for Leeds United and it’s no surprise that clubs like Liverpool and Manchester United have shown interest in the 22-year-old.

While Liverpool and United are looking to sign the player as a future investment but Mikel Arteta though clearly wants him as part of his defensive setup from the next season itself.

Arsenal have been really poor defensively this season and their manager’s biggest aim for the summer will be to rebuild his defence. And it seems like Ben White can be a player who can be a part of that.

According to Whoscored, Ben White is a defender who is known to bring the ball out of the defence which is a key feature since most teams nowadays want to play out from the back.

It’s still unclear as to how seriously both Man United & Liverpool will try to sign the player but Arsenal do have an advantage in this one given that the 22-year-old will more or less be guaranteed first-team football if he were to join the North London side.
