Sir Alex Ferguson is undoubtedly the most successful manager that English Football has ever seen. The Scot took charge of Manchester United back in 1986 and after ruling for almost three decades he vacated his chair at Old Trafford in 2013. But in those years the gaffer managed to win 13 Premier League titles along with 2 Champions League.

It is of no question that Sir Alex Ferguson has left behind a legacy which will live on till the Premier League is alive. And Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has gone on to say that the Premier League trophy should be named after the Ex-United manager.

Henry was present with the likes of Roy Keane and Kenny Dalglish on Sky Sports’ 25th-anniversary programme and it was here that the Ex-Gooner made such a claim.

The Frenchman said, “When I met him for the first time, I called him Mr. Premier League. Thirteen. this is ridiculous. The trophy we see right there should have his name,

“People might disagree with this, and I’m not a Man United fan. Thirteen times? This is too much.”

Henry also praised Ferguson’s ability to change his back room staff continuously and adapt to the ever changing league.

“His ability to change his staff, bring a new number two and a new voice helped,” said Henry.

“I think he knew what he wasn’t good at and so he selected coaches to do the stuff he wasn’t good at.”

Thierry last year rejected a coaching role at the Emirates and then he recently went on to slam his former club – Arsenal, for being unable to plug the defensive holes that had been troubling them for a long time.

And now going out and publicly praising one of Wenger’s biggest rivals? Will the Gooners be happy with Thierry Henry?
