Aubameyang Arsenal EPL

Arsenal suffered their third loss of the season, losing 5-0 to Manchester City on Saturday. And there’s a massive chance the Gunners’ castle might be crumbling at really alarming rate.

No one was really expecting Arsenal to pick up a win but Manchester City did not even break a sweat while scoring the five goals, especially after Granit Xhaka was sent off.

And according to Aubameyang, it will be very hard to get back up and dust themselves from here on.

He told BT Sport, as quoted: “Today it wasn’t enough, and against a team like City even when it is 11 against 11 you have to take risks and be brave on the ball, and we didn’t today.

“After the red card it was a different game, but this is not enough and everyone has to raise the level, work harder as a team and stick together. This is the only way to go forward.

“We have to play with courage. This type of game we have to play with everything and take risks, but we just didn’t do enough today. I think we have to talk between us players, and I think this is important because we are Arsenal, and we have to show our wounded pride.

“We have to talk, and say the truth between each other, be honest and raise the level. It’s going to be difficult (for Arteta to motivate the squad), but we are a team and we have to stick together in this moment. As the senior players we have to show the way as well. It’s not going to be easy, but we’ll try to give our best.”

Arsenal are currently sitting at the bottom of the table with zero points and a goal difference of negative nine. And it’s safe to say that the Gunners have hit rock bottom.

Yes, they were missing some key players on Saturday but we doubt if they would have been able to make a dent even with their strongest XI.

The international break will give Mikel Arteta some time to rethink his strategy but to be brutally honest, the revival of the team will have to come from the players.

Arsenal have their backs against the wall and if they cannot find a few wins on the trot in the coming weeks then it’s very much probable they might finish in the second half of the table next summer.
