Arsenal will take on AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League this weekend and reports have emerged that Nacho Monreal will not be part of the squad.

The Spaniard has been Unai Emery’s first choice left-back this season having played 10 games in all competitions but the 32-year-old had been recovering from a hamstring injury.

Nacho Monreal picked up the injury during the third week of October and since then he has missed a total of seven games for the Gunners.

The left-back was deemed fit to play against Wolves right before the international break but his name was eventually not included in the match squad.

While many pondered over the actual reason but now sources have revealed that the player has suffered a setback in his road to recovery.

Reports suggest that Nacho Monreal will miss the next three Premier League games which means that the 32-year-old will not feature against Bournemouth this weekend.

But Bournemouth is not the major cause of concern for the Arsenal manager as the next two Premier League games are against Tottenham and Manchester United.

This will surely be a big headache for Unai Emery since his backup left-back Sead Kolasinac has also been suffering from a hamstring injury and the last thing the Gunners boss would want to do is field an injured player against the likes of Lucas Moura or Marcus Rashford.

In other news, Alexandre Lacazette and Aubameyang have both returned to full training and will feature against the Cherries on Sunday while Danny Welbeck remains a long-term absentee after his horror ankle injury.

Arsenal currently sit on fifth place in the Premier League table and with a win against Bournemouth they might have a chance to enter that top four(depending on the result of the Spurs vs Chelsea game of course.)
