Parc des Prices PSG

Paris Saint-Germain have made up their mind on Randal Kolo Muani and they will now look to get rid of the French striker at the start of 2025.

PSG are planning to send him out on loan in January with an obligation or an option to buy next summer and currently, two of the biggest Premier League clubs have been linked with the 26-year-old.

Liverpool have kept track of the striker before he joined Eintracht Frankfurt in 2022 and the Anfield outfit seem to have reignited their interest in the forward. Along with Liverpool, Arsenal have also been linked with Muani in a possible January move as Mikel Arteta is desperate to reinforce his attacking department.

Randal Kolo Muani’s time at PSG is well and truly over because the striker has started just two Ligue 1 matches this season and since joining the club in 2023, he has featured in just 54 games across all competitions. Dembele and Goncalo Ramos is currently ahead of Muani in the pecking order and Luis Enrique has given the green light to offload Muani during the middle of the season.

Currently, Arsenal and Liverpool are two of the biggest names who have been linked with the striker so we decided to take a look at which January move will make more sense for the Frenchman.

Arsenal or Liverpool: Which club should Kolo Muani join?

Randal Kolo Muani spent one year with Eintracht Frankfurt and during that time he had scored 26 goals in just 50 appearances for the German club. While he has failed to replicate that form in Paris, the 26-year-old is still a top talent who have the ability to find the back of the net.

He is blessed with pace and when combined with his physical strength, Muani becomes a formidable force in and around the opponents penalty box. Apart from the centre-forward’s role, he can also play as a winger and this versatility will be very attractive for both Liverpool and Arsenal.

At Liverpool, he will be the backup to Darwin Nunez but we think a move to Arsenal will a lot more sense for him. Mikel Arteta has lost faith in Gabriel Jesus and the Brazilian will definitely be sold next year. In such a scenario if Kolo Muani can come in and put in a good shift, he will be able to see a lot of game time at the Emirates Stadium.

Darwin Nunez has scored only two Premier League games this season so on paper, he can easily replace him as well. However, Liverpool have become a cohesive unit and a well-oiled machine under Arne Slot so it will be very difficult for the PSG striker to break into the first XI in just half a season.

Because Randal Kolo Muani can also play as a wide player he can not only play in tandem with Kai Havertz but can also act as the backup for Bukayo Saka. Saka is out until February with a hamstring injury which means the PSG man can come in and play several game on the trot at Arsenal.

According to Fabrizio Romano, no club has yet made a formal contract with PSG but we are sure within the next couple of days, several of the top European clubs will join this interesting transfer race. However, in terms of getting minutes under his best a January move to Arsenal seems to be the safest bet for Randal Kolo Muani.
