The Gunners travelled to Stamford Bridge for the first London derby of the season.
However, Arsene Wenger’s men were held to a goalless stalemate against the Premier League champions.
Alexandre Lacazette squandered the best chance of the game after he fired the ball over the bar.
Arsenal took a point away from a hard-fought encounter at the Bridge which saw David Luiz given his marching orders for a dangerous tackle on Sead Kolasinac.
But who impressed for Arsenal?
Here are the Arsenal players’ from the Chelsea vs Arsenal game:
Petr Cech – 7/10
Big save from Pedro in the first half. Exuded confidence as he looked solid as ever for Arsenal.
Laurent Koscielny – 7/10
Arsenal’s skipper led by example as he held their back three together to thwart Chelsea. Made two or three brilliant last-ditch tackles to cut out the threat.
Shkodran Mustafi – 7/10
Gave Morata a torrid time by sticking tight to him throughout the game. Had a goal disallowed rightfully for being offside.
Nacho Monreal – 6.5/10
Steady and Solid performance by the Spaniard. Slotted in and covered well for Sead Kolasinac or Mustafi as and when needed.
Hector Bellerin – 7.5/10
Consistently troubled Alonso with his pace and was a thorn in Chelsea’s side.
Granit Xhaka – 6.5/10
A sloppy performance in a decent Arsenal display. Gave away the ball easily far too often and did not manage to get hold of Kante or Fabregas during the game.
Aaron Ramsey -7.5/10
The Welshman had a hugely positive impact in the midfield. Gave Kane something to ponder. Had a shot hit the post in the first half after an amazing mazy run in the box.
Sead Kolasinac – 7/10
Tremendous force on the left and he even offers an attacking outlet. Could have got his second yellow for dissent on another night.
Alex Iwobi – 6.5/10
Replaced Ozil and put in a decent shift for the Gunners without making much of an impact. Looked tired because of Champions League fixture in which he participated.
Danny Welbeck – 6.5/10
He pressed effectively and worked hard for the possession of the ball. Limped off with a groin injury late on.
Alexandre Laczazette – 6.5/10
was almost not present in the game and when the chance came he missed a gilt-edged opportunity which could have made a major difference.
Substitutes:
Alexis Sanchez – 6/10
Came on to replace Lacazette and he himself did not look very exciting for the Gunners.
Giroud – N/A
Replaced the injured Welbeck as Arsenal searched for equaliser.
Elneny – N/A
Brought on in place of Iwobi as Wenger tried to shut the game out.
