Arsenal started Project Restart in rather poor fashion, losing to Man City and Brighton in back-to-back matches. But since then, the Gunners have gotten their act straight and are yet to taste defeat in the Premier League.
All that could change this midweek as the North London side host third-placed Leicester City. The Foxes have themselves not made a really admirable restart but they go into this match at the back of a fine 3-0 win against Crystal Palace.
And this is precisely what Mikel Arteta has warned his players that there will be no margin for error against a formidable opponent like Leicester.
“Every game you have no margin for error, we know that we try to win every game,” said Arteta, as reported.
“Let’s enjoy it a little bit before we start thinking about Leicester and try to go again. The race is to try to win against Leicester and let’s see what happens. We try to improve as a team.
“It’s probably one of the best wins because of the difficult schedule we’ve had and how well they have been doing all season.
“Winning is not an easy thing to do and it’s another step forward in our process and I’m really happy.
“I said after Brighton (a 2-1 defeat) I was very happy with the effort, I never denied the effort and the intention they were putting in.
“We cannot give anything to the opponent, it’s about competing for 100 minutes. Hopefully, we are doing much better and that’ll give us a better chance to win more games.”
After the Leicester City game, Arsenal will take on Tottenham and then Liverpool so if they can manage to pick up a win against the Foxes in midweek then Mikel Arteta will go into the next two matches with a lot of confidence under his belt.
But with the kind of defensive line he currently has, many pundits think that the likes of Jamie Vardy and Iheanacho could rip them to shreds.
