Arsenal were held to a 2-2 draw by Sporting in midweek but Mikel Arteta will be hoping this hiccup will not affect their Premier League campaign.

The Gunners take a short trip across London to take on Fulham on Sunday and this one will be a tricky encounter because the home side are undefeated in four matches at Craven Cottage and they have suffered only a single loss in their previous five outings.

Despite Fulham’s good form, Arsenal will go into this match as the favourites but fatigue could play a really crucial role in the outcome of this game. Thursday night fixtures are a nightmare for any team, more so when that’s an away match and it doesn’t end in a win.

Arsenal are just five points ahead of Manchester City which means every game is a must-win for them. They cannot afford to drop any points because one stumble and City will be breathing down their necks. Man City are the season pro so if they come within touching distance of the league leaders, they will make sure that they hunt them down.

Arsenal’s team news and injuries:

Martin Odegaard and Kieran Tierney missed Thursday’s game due to a throat infection and both of them will be assessed before Sunday’s trip to Craven Cottage.

Tierney’s absence won’t hurt too much but if Odegaard cannot be fit in time then it will be a massive blow for Mikel Arteta. Odegaard has been the chief playmaker for the Gunners this season and without him, it will be really tough to break down Fulham.

Hopefully, he will be fit before Sunday but if the Norwegian is not available then Fabio Vieira will hold onto his place in the team.

The 24-year-old has scored nine and assisted six goals in the league this season so his absence won’t be a pleasant sight for the Arsenal fans.

Leandro Trossard picked up a groin injury vs Bournemouth which forced him to miss Thursday’s game and he remains a doubt for Sunday as well.

This is a bit of an issue for the Arsenal boss because Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus are also ruled out which means if Trossard remains injured, Reiss Nelson will once again get a start.

Kiwior played alongside Saliba in the Sporting game but he was really poor in that match. For Sunday, it will be a straight swap with him making way for Gabriel.

Arsenal predicted line up vs Fulham:

Predicted Starting Line up(4-3-3): Ramsdale; Gabriel, Saliba, Zinchenko, White; Xhaka, Partey, Odegaard/Vieira; Saka, Martinelli, Trossard/Nelson.
