Arsenal showed superb grit and determination to pick up a win against Aston Villa and next up, they hit the road to take on Leicester City.

The Gunners take on Leicester City at the King Power on Saturday and this is a must-win game for the North London club because Manchester City are breathing down their necks. Arsenal are only two points ahead but they have played a game less than City.

Leicester City might have lost to Manchester United in their previous game but they have a very good recent record winning three and drawing one before the United setback. Rodgers’ men have scored 11 goals in their last five outings while the Gunners haven’t been able to keep a clean sheet in six matches.

Even though Arsenal are the outright favourites to win this weekend but the Foxes have what it takes to cause an upset. They showed flashes of brilliance against Man United so Mikel Arteta and his boys will have to be on their toes.

Arsenal’s team news and injuries:

The Gunners have three major injury concerns but thankfully, none of these injuries is in the defensive department. Barring a late setback, the Arsenal manager will not reshuffle his backline, more so cause there’s no midweek game for them.

Thomas Partey is the first major absentee for the Gunners and he has not trained with the team until Tuesday. Some reports are suggesting that the midfielder could be fit in time for the Leicester game but Arteta is not going to take a gamble.

Jorginho’s arrival has eased the pressure so there’s no need to risk Partey this weekend. The former Chelsea man has done a good job and his performance vs Villa will have given Arteta a lot of confidence.

Elneny is recovering from surgery meaning Jorginho and Granit Xhaka will once again pair up in central midfield.

Gabriel Jesus is also out injured but his absence has not been felt because the likes of Nkeitah, Saka and Martinelli have done a tremendous job.

Trossard got a start against Aston Villa last weekend but the new arrival was a bit average and this should allow Gabriel Martinelli to come back into the line up.

Arsenal predicted line up vs Leicester City:

Predicted Starting XI(4-3-3): Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Jorginho, Xhaka; Bukayo Saka, Martinelli, Nketiah.
