Arsenal got back to winning ways last weekend after stumbling against Liverpool but this week, they could once again be staring at a defeat.

The Gunners take on Man United in the Premier League on Thursday and despite their great form in recent months, they cannot afford to take United lightly, especially after how they played against Chelsea.

Now that Ralf Rangnick has been officially appointed as the interim manager, he will be working closely with Michael Carrick and this is not great news for Mikel Arteta’s preparations. A win for Arsenal could help them break into the top four but a loss will help Man United come within touching distance of the Gunners.

The North London side are undefeated in 9 of their last 10 matches in the Premier League but their previous few meetings against Manchester United have not seen too many goals and there’s a big chance that we will see a repeat of the same on Thursday. Man United will be inclined to avoid another defeat while Arsenal will be circumspect not to gift all three points to a faltering team.

Arsenal team news & injuries vs Manchester United:

Arsenal have managed to find their first-choice centre-backs and keeper so White, Gabriel and Aaron Ramsdale will not be changing – barring an injury and we can safely say that the right-back area has also been sorted.

Nuno Tavares and Kieran Tierney are fighting for the left-back spot right now and as of now, it’s Tavares who seems to be the favourite for the Arsenal boss.

The 21-year-old provided an assist against Newcastle United and we think he has done enough to hold onto his place for the time being.

Granit Xhaka remains on the sidelines with an injury which means Lokonga and Thomas Partey will pair up in defensive midfield.

Odegaard returned to the side last weekend and the Norwegian had a really great outing vs the Magpies. If Mikel Arteta is not in the mood for rotations then Odegaard will keep Lacazette on the bench once again.

Bukayo Saka came off against Newcastle United with a thigh injury and the England international is not expected to be fit in time to feature against Man United.

Arteta had said after Saturday’s game: “It was an action where he said he felt something and wasn’t comfortable to continue and we’ll have to assess him and probably scan him and see if there’s any injury there.

“He felt something muscular and let’s see what it is.”

While the Arsenal manager does have the option of Nicolas Pepe but Arteta will go with Gabriel Martinelli on the right flank if Saka is unavailable.

Emile Smith Rowe and Aubameyang will hold onto their place in the first XI.
