Arsenal have started the 22/23 Premier League campaign in superb fashion but they will face their first major test of the season in the form of Manchester United.

The Gunners have won all of their first five matches but this Man United side are slowly growing in confidence under Erik ten Hag so Arteta and his boys have a tough job on their hands.

Arsenal are in prime form right now so they are the favourites going into this game but the manager has several injury concerns to deal with and we think this could play a major role in determining the outcome of this match.

The likes of Manchester City and Spurs are breathing down their neck so the Gunners cannot afford a slip-up. Anything other than a win will push them off the top spot on the table and with the Europa League starting next week, things will get more challenging for them.

Arsenal team news & injuries:

Aaron Ramsdale suffered a hamstring issue against Villa and if he is not ready then Matt Turner will have to come into the No 1 role.

Zinchenko is ruled out with a knee injury so Kieran Tierney will start at left-back. The Scottish international had a very average game against Aston Villa and this area will be a cause of concern for the Arsenal manager.

Some early rumours are suggesting that Ben White did not train on Friday morning but it’s still not clear if he is injured or not. Thankfully, the manager has Tomiyasu as a backup.

Both Thomas Partey and Eleneny are out injured and to make matters worse, Martin Odegaard picked up an ankle injury in midweek. He’s currently facing a race against time to be fit for the Man United game.

The manager has told the press: “They are being assessed[Odegaard & Ramsdale]. We will see more tomorrow. Hopefully, they will be able to train with the team.”

Odegaard is likely to go through a late fitness test but if he is not ready then Emile Smith Rowe is the one who’s going to come into the side and play in that No 10 role.

As far as the front three are concerned, Mikel Arteta is not going to tinker with them unless there’s a late injury.

Mikel Arteta has enough players to name a competitive starting XI on Sunday but with so many absentees, the Arsenal manager will have a massively reduced bench strength.
