Arsenal beat West Ham United in Matchweek 2 of the English Premier League and next up they will take on Leicester City in the third round of the EFL Cup.

Leicester have won their last three home matches against Arsenal but this match is sure to be a much more even challenge since the Gunners have started the new season on the right track.

Arsenal will take on Liverpool in the league just five days after their EFL clash so Mikel Arteta will surely be resting some of the players who featured during their 2-1 win over West Ham United.

The Gunners manager does have a number of injury concerns to deal with before this game against Leicester City which is why many pundits believe Arteta might struggle to rotate his players.

Arsenal team news vs Leicester City:

Rob Holding and Gabriel started in defence vs West Ham United but the duo will move to the bench in midweek in order to make way for David Luiz and William Saliba.

Sokratis, Pablo Mari, Calum Chambers and Shkodran Mustafi are all injury absentees and will not be available for selection.

Kieran Tierney did not feature vs the Hammers due to an injury he picked up during warm-up and Sead Kolasinac had to come into the side as a result.

The Bosnian could get a start vs Leicester as well since Mikel Arteta would want Tierney to remain fully fit and available for the game against Liverpool next week.

Ceballos should keep his place from midweek but Granit Xhaka will undoubtedly be rested as Elneny comes into central midfield alongside the Spaniard.

Bellerin will also make way for Maitland-Niles but young Bukayo Saka should keep his place as the left-wing back especially if Tierney starts on the bench.

Nicolas Pepe will finally get a start for Arsenal this season, replacing Willian on the right flank while Aubameyang operates on the other wing.

Nketiah scored Arsenal’s winner vs West Ham United and the youngster could be rewarded with a start up front, in place of Alexandre Lacazette.

Arsenal’s predicted XI vs Leicester City:

Predicted Starting XI: Bernd Leno; David Luiz, William Saliba, Kolasinac/Tierney; Maitland-Niles, Elneny, Ceballos, Bukayo Saka; Aubameyang, Nketiah/Lacazette, Pepe.
