Arsenal suffered a loss in their previous English Premier League game, going down 2-1 to Tottenham Hotspur in the North London Derby.

And things could get even worse as they will welcome Liverpool at the Emirates in their next encounter on Wednesday night.

Arsenal are undefeated in 21 of their last 23 home matches against Liverpool in all competitions but the kind of form that they are in right now, no one really expects the Gunners to pick up anything from this match.

So if Arsenal were to lose in midweek then surely they will be without Champions League football as well as Europa League football during the 2020-21 season.

Arsenal team news vs Liverpool:

Martinez will start in goal with Bernd Leno out for the rest of the season and the manager is once again expected to use a three-man backline.

The trio of Mustafi, Kolasinac and Luiz have done a decent job at the back so far but with Rob Holding fully fit, David Luiz could drop back to the bench vs Liverpool. Sokratis could also come into the starting XI.

Matteo Geundouzi and Mesut Ozil might no longer feature for the Gunners this season so once again it will be Granit Xhaka and Dani Ceballos who will play in central midfield.

Cedric Soares will probably replace Hector Bellerin at right-back while Tierney is expected to keep his place in the first XI in midweek.

Nicolas Pepe once again had an underwhelming game vs Spurs and the summer signing will surely be dropped in order to bring in young Bukayo Saka into the side.

Aubameyang and Lacazette put in a fine shift during the North London Derby and the duo are more or less automatic selections when the current champions come to town on Wednesday.

Gabriel Martinelli is sidelined with an injury meaning Reiss Nelson will be introduced if Mikel Arteta feels the need to inject some fresh legs in the second half of the match.

Arsenal’s predicted XI vs Liverpool:

Possible Starting XI: Martinez; Rob Holding, Kolasinac, Mustafi/Sokratis; Xhaka, Ceballos, Tierney, Cedric Soares; Aubameyang, Lacazette, Bukayo Saka.
