Arsenal reignite their interest in this 25Y/O midfielder but Barcelona are also keen to sign him: Where is he heading?

Premier League side Arsenal have reignited their interest in Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo, who’s really keen to move out of the Serie A this summer.

Arsenal had tried to sign Arthur from Juventus in January but someone they were unable to bring him on board. Mikel Arteta is still in need of a central midfielder which is probably why the manager has shifted his focus back to the 25-year-old.

It’s being claimed that the Gunners have already made contact with Juventus and there’s a major possibility of a transfer which is why Arthur will remain in Turin when Juventus head off on their pre-season tour to the US.

However, the Gunners are not the only club who have been linked with the player because Barcelona are also in the vicinity and there’s a chance they could make a move for him as well.

Will Arthur choose Arsenal or Barcelona?

The midfielder has made it clear to Juventus that he is only interested in joining either Arsenal or FC Barcelona but to date, the Camp Nou outfit have not made any concrete moves for him.

Right now, the Gunners are the only club are directly in talks with Juventus but they will have to close this deal before Barcelona make up their mind.

If Barca come calling, there’s no way Arthur will snub them and choose a move to the Emirates Stadium. Arthur spent two seasons with the Catalans but his time with the club was not very successful so he would love to go back and set the record straight.

At Barca, he had played in only 74 games across all competitions, scoring just four goals.

Arthur isn’t the only midfielder who’s on Arsenal’s radar because they have been chasing Youri Tielemans as well and it’s been two months but they haven’t made any significant progress in signing the Leicester man.

Arthur and Tielemans will be available for more or less the same transfer fee and since the new season is just around the corner we think Mikel Arteta will be happy to bring on board whichever midfielder is available at the earliest.
