Premier League giants Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt’s promising midfielder Hugo Larsson, as per Christian Falk.
Both clubs are planning to reinforce their central midfield as soon as possible and one of the major names on their wishlist seems to be Hugo Larsson who is currently rated at around €84 million.
It is still unclear how Ange’s side plans to proceed with their interest, but the high valuation will not be a problem for Arsenal. According to the latest rumours, the Gunners are planning a January move for the 20-year-old as Mikel Arteta’s side continue to play catchup with Man City and Liverpool.
Apart from Arsenal and Spurs, Liverpool have also been linked with Larsson but Christian Falk has made it clear that the midfielder will not rush into deciding his future.
Is Hugo Larsson worth €84 million?
Larsson started his career with Malmo and it was just last year that he joined Eintracht Frankfurt.
Last season he featured in 38 games for the Bundesliga team and given that it was his first year in Germany, he did fairly well. Thankfully, he has stepped up this campaign because, in 16 appearances, Hugo Larsson has a rating of 7.1 out of 10.
Hugo is primarily a central midfielder but can also play in a more defensive role and in the league this season, he has won almost 67% of his ariel duels. He is a proper box-to-box midfield who is very sound in his technical ability to break lines and put in through balls. He also has very good play-making skills which is very evident in the 5 chances he has created in just 9 league starts.
The 20-year-old has been tipped to be a future superstar which is why Eintracht Frankfurt are demanding around €85 million for someone whose market value is only €28 million.
BILD has been claiming that the German side are not too keen on selling Hugo Larsson during the January window but the rumours suggest that an insane offer might be able to change Die Adler’s mind. As it stands, Larsson is valued so highly that Spurs are unlikely to make a move for him at the start of the new year. If the Bundesliga team sticks to their valuation, Arsenal will also likely delay their move until the end of the 2024/25 season.
