Arsenal lost their Carabao Cup quarter-final to Manchester City 4-1 and things are not getting any easier for manager Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners are back in the Premier League this weekend as they take on Chelsea in the London Derby at the Emirates this weekend.

Arsenal have failed to win their last 7 matches in the league and if they fail to pick up three points against Chelsea then they could very well be entangled in a relegation battle beyond the Christmas period.

Arteta has a series of injury concerns to deal with which will make it even harder for him to name his best XI on Boxing Day. The likes of Aubameyang, Gabriel Martinelli and Thomas Partey are all out with injuries and each one of them is a high-profile player for Arsenal.

Arsenal news team vs Chelsea:

Bernd Leno will be back in goal replacing Runarsson and the backline is also going to see a reshuffle.

Both Kolasinac and Mustafi played vs Manchester City in midweek but will make way for Kieran Tierney and Rob Holding. Gabriel will keep his place in the starting line-up.

Thomas Partey is still on the sidelines but Granit Xhaka is back from his suspension. Ceballos and Elneny started in central midfield vs City but the former is expected to make way for the Swiss international.

Maitland-Niles will move to the right-hand side of midfield with Bukayo Saka coming back into the side.

Aubameyang is still recovering from his calf injury and he is not likely to be fit in time to take on Chelsea on Saturday. Gabriel Martinelli is also out with a shin injury he suffered against Manchester City. This means Eddie Nketiah is expected to play upfront since Lacazette played the same role in midweek.

Nicolas Pepe will come back into the side and if Aubameyang is not fit then summer signing Willian will operate on the left flank.
