Arsenal team news vs Leicester City: Lacazette to be benched again?

Arsenal got back to winning ways by beating Benfica 3-2 in the Europa League and progressing to the next round. Next up, they have to face Leicester City in the Premier League.

The Emirates outfit have been in really wobbly form in the league having won just one out of their last five league matches and if they fail to beat Leicester City as well then the Gunners could slip to as low as 13th on the league table.

Mikel Arteta has only one injury concern going into this weekend’s game but despite that, they will be the underdogs for this one, primarily due to the superior league position that Leicester hold right now.

Arsenal left it late against Benfica but Brendan Rodgers’ side will not be so easy to crack open and this very reason could force the Gunners boss to name a forward heavy side on Sunday.

Arsenal team news vs Leicester City:

David Luis and Gabriel played in central defence in midweek and with Rob Holding still out with a head injury, the pair will have to take the field against Leicester as well.

Now that Kieran Tierney has returned to full fitness, Cedric Soares will be challenging Hector Bellerin for the right-back’s role. The former could be in line to start against the Foxes.

Thomas Partey made his comeback during the win against Benfica and he is likely to replace Dani Ceballos in defensive midfield while Xhaka keeps his place.

Odegaard should be named in the starting line-up once again, operating as the attacking midfielder.

Bukayo Saka has made the right winger’s position his own and the youngster will be one of the first names on the teamsheet for the Arsenal manager on Sunday.

Emile Smith Rowe operated on the left-hand side of attack in midweek but this weekend Nicolas Pepe could be given a chance since Aubameyang has been playing through the middle lately.

Right now, Lacazette just cannot get a place in the starting line-up for Arsenal and we fear a repeat of the same situation will happen this weekend as well with Auba operating as the primary frontman.
