Arsenal beat Leicester City in the EFL Cup in midweek and now they return to the Premier League on Monday as they take on defending champions, Liverpool.

The Gunners are currently third on the league table having won both of their opening matches but with the kind of form that Liverpool are in right now, Arteta could very well be staring at his first loss of the new season.

Liverpool are undefeated in their last 8 home matches against Arsenal in all competitions plus going into this match, the Gunners boss does have a few injury concerns to deal with.

Mikel Arteta rested some of his regular first-team players during the 2-0 win over the Foxes but almost all of them are expected to return to the starting line-up on Monday night.

Arsenal team news vs Liverpool:

With Martinez moving out of the club, Bernd Leno is the obvious choice in front of goal and the manager will opt for a three-man back line once again.

Gabriel has made his presence felt at the back during his first few outings and with players like Mari, Mustafi and Sokratis still out injured, the summer signing will reprise his role alongside David Luiz.

Kieran Tierney missed the Leicester game due to an injury and Mikel Arteta will be hoping the Scott gets fit in time to start vs Liverpool.

Elneny and Joe Willock played in central midfield vs Rodgers’ men but the duo will move to the bench as Dani Ceballos and Granit Xhaka comes back into the side.

Bukayo Saka will retain his place as the left-wing back while Hector Bellerin is expected to come back into the starting XI.

Aubameyang and Lacazette both did not play any part during Arsenal’s EFL Cup win but they will return to the line-up on Monday against Liverpool at Anfield.

Nicolas Pepe played the full 90 minutes in midweek while summer signing Willian started on the bench. But against Jurgen Klopp’s men, the roles will undoubtedly be reversed with the Brazilian getting the nod ahead of Pepe.
