Arsenal seem to have recovered from their recent poor form having picked up three wins on the trot in the Premier League and next up, they take on Newcastle United in the FA Cup.

Arsenal have won 14 of their last 15 matches against Newcastle in all competitions and given the form they are in right now, we expect Mikel Arteta’s side to make progress to the next round without any major hiccups.

But the one bit of concern for the Arsenal boss would be the fact that he needs to rest some of his regular starters which, in turn, could give the Magpies a glimmer of hope on Saturday.

Arteta has more or less a fit squad to choose from but the manager should be naming a relatively young side, more so since they have a Premier League game next week vs Crystal Palace.

Arsenal team news vs Newcastle United:

Pablo Mari and Rob Holding started in central defence during Arsenal’s 4-0 win over West Brom during the weekend but the pair should make way for Gabriel and David Luiz.

Bellerin has been starting a few games on the trot at right-back but the Spaniard will be replaced by Cedric Soares with Kieran Tierney expected to keep his place at left-back.

Thomas Partey will be making his return from injury and will start in defensive midfield alongside Mohamed Elneny. Smith-Rowe played as the attacking midfielder vs West Brom but he will be replaced by Joe Willock on Saturday.

Gabriel Martinelli remained an unused sub vs the Baggies but the youngster will most certainly start on the left wing meaning Aubameyang will be on the bench.

Buyako Saka will be rested against Newcastle United so the right winger’s slot is up for grabs. Both Pepe and William have been really underwhelming so far this season making it a 50-50 choice for Mikel Arteta.

Alexandre Lacazette seems to have gotten his from back over the past few matches but the Frenchman will make way for young Eddie Nketiah.
