Arsenal take on Sheffield United in the English Premier League this weekend and many pundits feel the Gunners can pick up a win against the Blades.

While this statement might seem odd but the state Arsenal were in a couple of weeks ago everyone was taking the mickey out of the North London side but thankfully, things have started to settle down ever since Mikel Arteta has taken charge of the club.

The Gunners might have drawn their previous match in the league 1-1 against Crystal Palace but during the first half of that game, they showed great determination and had it not been for the red card to Aubameyang, Arsenal would have surely come out of the match with all three points.

Going into this match, Arteta does have a number of injury concerns and most of it is with the defensive aspects of the game and against a team like Sheffield United, this could be a real cause of concern.

Arsenal team news vs Sheffield United:

Calum Chambers has been ruled out for a couple of months and Shkodran Mustafi is also looking to head out of the club this week. So this invariably means David Luiz and Sokratis will start in central defence vs the Blades while Rob Holding starts on the bench.

Keiran Tierney is also out for a lengthy period meaning Kolasinac will play at left-back while Maitland-Niles operates on the right-hand side.

Some reports though claim that Hector Bellerin could make himself fit in time for the weekend’s clash in which case the Spaniard should get the nod at right-back.

Lucas Torreira started in central midfield alongside Xhaka at Selhurst Park and we believe the Uruguayan will keep his place since Arteta would want someone who is good at recovering lost possession.

Mesut Ozil has been one of the stand-out players for Arsenal ever since the new manager has taken charge and the German will most certainly get a start vs Sheffield on Saturday – if not the match chooses a rotation policy.

Nicolas Pepe has also been starting to show his real class at Arsenal and he will once again operate down the right flank while Lacazette plays up front vs the Blades.

Aubameyang was shown a red card for dangerous play during their 1-1 draw vs Palace meaning he is suspended for this match.

While we feel it will be Bukayo Saka who will start in Auba’s place on the left-flank but some reports claim Arteta might try and use Reiss Nelson on that flank.
