Remember the time when Arsenal had made a bid of £40 million plus £1 for Liverpool’s Luis Suarez back in 2013 and the Reds had promptly rejected that offer?
Well, now it looks as if the Gunners want some much-needed payback.
If you have not been living under a rock for the past couple of days then you may have heard that Chamberlain has rejected a new contract at Arsenal and has expressed his desire to leave the club. While Arsene Wenger has maintained that Chamberlain will not be sold but now it looks as if the Gunners boss just might have to change his stance.
Arsenal will let Chamberlain know by this weekend if the club is willing to let him go. And if they do, then both Liverpool and Chelsea are ready to pounce on that opportunity.
Now this is where it gets interesting.
According to a report, Arsenal are willing to sell Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool but the Emirates outfit will demand £40 million plus £1 for the player, mirroring the bid that they had put in for Suarez back in 2013.
While Chelsea are the bookmakers favourite to land the want-away Arsenal star but many believe that Liverpool are going to go all out in order to sign the player.
