German Champions Bayern Munich have signed former Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry from Weder Bremen on a three-year-old deal.

The 21-year-old German winger who is a product of Stuttgart’s youth academy joined Arsenal in 2010. But he had to wait until 2011 to get a chance in the first team. Only when he was 16. But somehow the talented winger could not settle in the North London club and spent four disappointing seasons at the club.

Ultimately he was sold off to Weder Bremen before the 2016-17 season for a fee of £5 million. The youngster then went on to have a wonderful season with Bremen scoring 11 goals in 27 appearances for the German club. But after just a single season Gnabry expressed the desire to leave the club. And on June 8th Werder Bremen announced that Gnabry had activated his release clause and would leave the club in the summer.

And within just 3 days of the announcement, the German champions have struck a deal for the 21-year-old. The talented winger has cost Bayern €8 million. A bargain we must say, especially since a lot of other clubs were in pursuit of him.

After the news was made official, Gnabry said that “It is a big honour to become a part of Bayern.”

“I have an exciting challenge ahead and I am looking forward to it.”
