Arsenal are set to face 2015/16 champions Leicester City on Friday as the new Premier League season kicks off. But Wenger will be going into this match with a few injury headaches and he is likely to miss out on a couple of first team players due to injuries and suspensions.

We take a look at Arsenal’s predicted line up vs Leicester City:

Goalkeeper:

Petr Cech:

The 35-year-old will take his rightful place in front of the goal.

Defence:

Wenger is running really short with his defensive choices as he is missing two first choice defenders. Per Mertesacker is likely to miss the season opener due to the injury he suffered during Arsenal’s Community Shield match against Chelsea last weekend. Laurent Koscielny is also unavailable due to a suspension.

So it looks like Arsenal are going to start will with a back three of Holding, Nacho Monreal and Shkodran Mustafi.

Rob Holding – Defender

Nacho Monreal – Defender

Shkodran Mustafi – Defender

Midfield:

In this department, Wenger is much more sorted but he will most certainly miss the services of Aaron Ramsey as the Welshman has allegedly failed to recover from a calf injury. Mohamed Elneny will take his place in the midfield and the Egyptian will be supported by Granit Xhaka. Hector Bellerin and Sead Kolasinac will take their positions at right-back and left-back respectively.

Sead Kolasinac – Left-Back

Granit Xhaka – Central Midfielder

Mohamed Elneny – Central Midfielder

Attack:

Both Mesut Ozil as well as Alexis Sanchez will also be amongst the major absentees on the opening weekend of the Premier League. While the Chilean is suffering from an abdominal strain which he suffered during a training session, Ozil, on the other hand, is out injured with an ankle injury.

New signing Alexandre Lacazette will start up front and will be supported on either side by Danny Welbeck and Alex Iwobi.
