Aston Villa have two tough games right after the international break and as things stand, Emi Martinez and Emiliano Buendia are going to miss both these matches.

Right after the international break, Villa face Chelsea and then Everton in a span of one week and if the two Villa players play all three games for Argentina, they will have to quarantine for longer.

Argentina face Venezuela, Brazil and Bolivia in their 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign and initially, it was thought Emi Martinez and Buendia were going to play only two of the three matches.

A club statement read: “These arrangements mean that Martinez and Buendia will only miss our Premier League match with Chelsea before being available for the visit of Everton to Villa Park on Sept. 18th in order to comply with the UK’s COVID quarantine regulations.”

Now, in a major turn of events, Argentina’s Football Association has stated that the pair will be available for all three matches.

“Our players are scheduled for three knockout dates and that’s it,” The Argentine spokesperson said, as per ESPN.

This will be a major cause of concern for the Aston Villa manager since Argentina play their final game on Thursday 9th September and if Emi Martinez and Buendia play in this game then they will have to quarantine for 10 days when they return to the UK.

This means they will not only miss the game against Chelsea but will also be absent for the Everton match.

Aston Villa face Chelsea once again in the EFL Cup on the 21st of September and there’s a slight chance they will be available for this encounter.
