Aston Villa suffered a defeat at the hands of Manchester City in their previous matchweek and next up, they take on another giant in the form of Arsenal.

Villa are currently 11th on the Premier League table with 28 points and if they can somehow beat the Gunners on Saturday then they will go level on with points with Chelsea.

However, picking up three points will be a really hard task because Arsenal have lost just three league games this season and right now, they are joint top on the table. At the weekend a win will be a far-fetched dream for Unai Emery’s men so even a point will be a great result for them.

Emery will be eager to get one over his former employers and this game will be the ideal one because Arsenal’s confidence is dented after losing to Manchester City.

Aston Villa’s team news and injuries:

Diego Carlos and Jed Steer are both recovering from Achilles injuries and while Carlos is expected to make a comeback towards the end of this month, goalkeeper Steer’s return date is still unknown.

Bertrand Traore started training with the first team earlier this month and there are reports that he could return to the matchday squad on Saturday.

Tyrone Mings missed the Manchester City game due to a knock but the defender will be fit to start against Arsenal. If Mings is coming in then Calum Chambers will be the one to make way.

Apart from this, we don’t think the Aston Villa manager is going to make any other changes to the starting line up which faced Manchester City.

Aston Villa have done pretty well under Unai Emery and even though beating Arsenal will be an uphill task but the likes of Leon Bailey and Watkins have the pace and trickery to trouble the Gunners’ defence and make their life uncomfortable.

Aston Villa predicted line up vs Arsenal:

Predicted Starting XI(4-4-2): Martinez; Konsa, Mings, Digne, Young; Luiz, Buendia, Kamara, Ramsey; Watkins, Leon Bailey.
