Aston Villa take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this weekend and Steven Gerrard’s men will be desperate to avoid four straight losses.

Villa are sitting on the 11th position in the table so Gerrard won’t be too worried but they will need to win vs Spurs in order to prevent slipping further down the table. Spurs are very much the favourites to pick up a win on Saturday but the Villa Park outfit have the quality in their side to cause an upset.

Currently, several players are out for Aston Villa but some of them could return this weekend which will be a big boost for manager Steven Gerrard.

Aston Villa team news vs Tottenham:

DEFENCE:

Lucas Digne is currently recovering from stomach cramps while Kortney Hause is out with an abdominal issue.

Both of them will be touch and go this weekend and if neither of them is fit then Ashley Young is going to play at left-back. Young scored an own goal last weekend but if Digne is not back then the manager has no other option but to rely on him.

MIDFIELD:

Morgan Sanson had a really underwhelming game against Wolves last time around and there’s a possibility that he will move to the bench to make way for Douglas Luiz.

Jacob Ramsey and John McGinn should hold onto their place in central midfield.

ATTACK:

Leon Bailey assisted Ollie Watkins upfront because Danny Ings was missing last weekend due to the birth of his child but Ings will be coming back for the Aston Villa vs Spurs tie.

Ings should replace Bailey in the final third which means we will see a slight change in formation.

Watkins and Ings will play as the two frontmen while Philippe Coutinho will operate in the No 10 role.

Aston Villa predicted line up vs Spurs:

Predicted Starting XI(4-3-1-2): Martinez; Konsa, Mings, Young/Digne, Cash; McGinn, Douglas Luiz, Ramsey; Coutinho; Watkins, Danny Ings.
