Nicolas Pepe to replace Aubameyang Arsenal EPL
Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan Arsenal news

It looks Arsenal will have no other choice but to part ways with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the end of the season now that Manchester United are so interested in him.

The forward currently has one year left on his current deal at the Emirates and Arsenal are trying desperately to make him sign a new deal before the current season comes to an end.

But as things stand, he is reluctant to put pen on paper to a new deal and wants to head out for greener pastures.

And now as per Guillem Balague, Aubameyang had actually agreed to join Barcelona during the January transfer window but eventually, the move did not take place.

He told AFTV: “When Barcelona were looking for a striker and they eventually got Braithwaite [earlier this year], they approached Timo Werner, Aubameyang or Rodrigo of Valencia.

“And they had a yes from the players under the condition that a deal could take place between the clubs. Arsenal said ‘no way we’re not open to selling Aubameyang’.”

Is this statement is true then it clearly suggests Aubameyang has his heart set on an exit from the Emirates and this could happen during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Last year, the Gunners had to lose Aaron Ramsey on a free transfer and surely they can’t afford to make the same mistake with Aubameynag next year.

So either Arsenal will have to cash in on the Gabon international at the end of this season or risk losing him for free next summer.

And with a club like Manchester United interested in signing him, we think Arteta will be smart enough to offload Aubameyang right now and use that money to rebuild his squad for the upcoming season.
