A few rumours have claimed that Manchester City could try and sign Aubameyang if they miss out on Harry Kane. And just when everyone was digesting this bit of news, The Telegraph are saying that Arsenal are ready to cash in on the Gabon international.

Aubameyang’s importance in the side has vastly diminished which is why the Gunners are ready to use him in the market to generate necessary transfer funds.

Sam Dean writes: “Arsenal will listen to offers for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and will not stand in their captain’s way if another club shows interest in buying him this summer.

“Aubameyang remains a key part of Mikel Arteta’s plans but Telegraph Sport understands he is no longer considered indispensable as Arsenal look to raise money through sales in the final days of the transfer window.

“The 32-year-old has two years remaining on the contract he signed in September 2020. He earns around £250,000-a-week, though, and his salary demands are likely to prove problematic for any interested teams in Europe.”

Will Aubameyang be joining Manchester City this week?

Manchester City are looking at Aubameyang as the backup to Harry Kane but we don’t think Pep Guardiola is seriously going to consider signing him. He’s just a far-fetched Plan B.

Like Aubameyang, Arsenal have put several other first-team players up for sale this summer but the Gunners are struggling to find proper buyers for them at the moment.

Players like Lacazette, Bellerin and Nketiah have no big takers and we have a feeling Auba is going to fall into this bracket as well.

He is one of the highest earners in the Arsenal squad and this is going to be the major problem for clubs like Manchester City – should they consider signing him.

Also, at 32 he isn’t getting any younger.

Arsenal are not likely to find the apt buyer for Aubameyang in the coming week(despite Man City’s interest) so the Gabon international will remain at the Emirates stadium for at least one more season.
